More than ever, the pandemic is leaving its mark on the anniversary of the year. COVID is thus changing and shaping our social coexistence to an extent that is hardly bearable for many. Dissatisfaction is spreading, which more and more often turns into negation/denial and in many cases even leads to rebellion - and this is despite the fact that in some cases people are already reaching the limits of the health care system.

The painter and draftswoman Ellen Semen, who was born in Hamburg and has lived in Vienna for 20 years, does not deliver any of her wonderful images of longing for a conflict-free world in COLLA CORONA this time. Rather, she launched into the middle of the first Lockdown with a highly original series - collaged works that reference COVID. In them, Semen works with a felt-tip pen on paper and later dissolves the paint with disinfectant (alcohol). This creates an impression in the direction of delicate watercolours. The illustrations incorporated into the collages mostly come from old books she finds at flea markets. Semen places the historical documents of the time at the centre of her works, but in a highly empathetic way and without ever overloading them with them. Thus she succeeds in the particularly charming symbiosis of historical with highly topical.

Alberta selected a total of 30 works from the online depot for the virtual exhibition COLLA CORONA and brought them in front of the BURN-IN curtain.
24 small formats are found in Petersburg hanging on the upper level. The entrance includes four works in oil on canvas and as a special highlight, the two large-format art prints fight against unknown life formwork (2.4 x 3.5 m) and The advisors (5 x 2.4 m) in FINE ART Masterprint quality. Semen's COLLA CORONA works convincingly as touching contemporary documents for the once-in-a-lifetime event of generations.

The BURN-IN team will advise you competently in all matters relating to art, investments, test hangings, framings, and visualizations (keyword ART ADVICE).
